Meet The Mount Pleasant team

All the staff at Mount Pleasant Kennels and Cattery have many years experience working with and along side animals and want to ensure your pet is cared for during his or her stay with us. Continue reading below for more information on each of our staff members.

Sandra

Sandra – The Boss

Sandra has owned and run Mount Pleasant Kennels since it opened in 1997. She has had a lifelong love affair with animals in general (though not if they have scales, no feet or more than 4 feet!). She has owned dogs and cats all her life, as well as horses and ponies.

carol

Carol – the kennel manager.

Carol has worked with us for 15 years .  She has a degree in ecological science, and is a qualified dog trainer, and is a dog therapeutic masseuse.

She also has a teaching degree and taught a range of subjects at Craven College in Skipton.

Carol is a trained dog groomer and also works in Bobbydazzlers.

Prior to working at Mount Pleasant, Carol, owned and run her own boarding kennels, and has a wealth of experience.

Katie – kennel assistant

Katie has been at Mount Pleasant for 3 years.  She has always had dogs and cats and horses of her own and her love of animals is obvious. She completed a small animal care course at Myerscough college and gained a distinction.

She hails from near Burnley as  her accent attests, but she copes well in Yorkshire – for a Lancastrian!

alex

Alex – The under boss

Alex has worked and helped in the kennels since they opened in 1997.  He is married to Sandra and tries to give support as and when needed.  Alex is away at regular intervals with his day job, but is still often to be found helping with the kennels as required.

 charlotte

Charlotte – Assistant Manager.

Charlotte has been with us now for 3 years and has become indispensable to the kennels.  She has a degree in Marine Biology and  she is a true animal lover. She has three dogs (at the moment) of her own  and is currently training her young Border Collie and her newest arrival a cocker spaniel.  She has worked in a number of service industries and brings her people skills and enthusiasm with her.

Ellie – Kennel Assistant.

Ellie joined our happy band in October 2017.  She lives on a farm, and has qualifications in equine care, and worked as a stable hand.  She recently completed an apprenticeship in dog grooming.  We are delighted she has joined us.
